What to Expect at Your First Visit to Within Chiropractic
Built to Give You Answers on Day One
Most new patients arrive having dealt with pain for a while without a clear explanation for why. The first visit is designed to change that. Dr. Thompson runs a structured, thorough exam before anything else happens so that when treatment starts, it’s based on what your body actually shows, not a best guess.
Plan for 30 to 45 minutes on day one. After that, regular visits run 5 to 10 minutes.
Your First Visit, Step by Step
The X-rays and posture analysis aren’t just for Dr. Thompson’s notes. You’ll be able to see exactly what he sees, which for a lot of patients is the first time the pain they’ve been feeling actually makes visual sense.
Your Report of Findings
Day two is a separate visit scheduled shortly after. Dr. Thompson walks you through everything the exam revealed, presents your customized care plan, and covers financial options. Nothing moves forward until you understand exactly what’s going on and what the plan is to address it.
Dr. Thompson could hand every new patient the same generic plan on day one, but that would mean guessing instead of knowing. Rushing a one-size-fits-all package before the exam findings are fully reviewed isn’t care, it’s a shortcut he’s not willing to take with your health and neither should you.
What Regular Visits Look Like
Once your care plan begins, visits are focused and run 5 to 10 minutes. Soft tissue therapy and mobility work are built into the process from the start, not extras you have to ask about. Progress exams are scheduled routinely so the plan adjusts as you improve.
What New Patients Usually Want to Know
What should I bring to my first visit?
If you have any existing recent imaging like X-rays or MRI results, bring those along. Otherwise just yourself. We handle everything else from there.
Will I get adjusted on my very first visit?
How soon after day one will my report of findings be scheduled?
What if I'm nervous about being adjusted?
That’s more common than you’d think. Dr. Thompson uses different techniques depending on your comfort level, including the Activator, which is a low-force instrument-based approach that doesn’t involve any twisting or popping if that’s a concern. Spinal or cervical decompression don’t require manual adjustments either.
